Roblox to roll out age checks for chat access

To enhance its safety measures, Roblox has become the "first" game platform to require age verification to participate in its in-game chat.
While some experts have expressed caution about the reliability of facial age estimation tools, Matt Kaufman, chief safety officer at Roblox, said that between the ages of about 5 to 25, the system can accurately estimate a person’s age within one or two years.
Roblox, under scrutiny for child safety concerns, will require users to verify their age through a selfie or an ID. They'll only be allowed to chat with others in the same age group unless they confirm they know the other person.
Roblox users now will be required to undergo a facial recognition check before utilizing the Roblox chat feature for its 150 million daily players.
